The Property
Firefly Point is 25 acres on the shores of Cobbs Creek Reservoir in Northern Cumberland County. We are surrounded by the lake, approximately 16 acres owned by Henrico county, and the Oakwood Methodist Church. You can't see any neighbors. This rural paradise Is less than an hour from Richmond and Charlottesville. There are hay fields, woods, and more than 1/2 mile of shoreline to explore. Plus gorgeous views of the lake and on clear days you can see the mountains near Charlottesville! Sunsets are stunning and the dark night skies reveal stars you can't see from in town.
The Barn
The 48' x 36' former horse barn has been upgraded to a "Party Barn." The walls are lined with shiplap made from horse fencing we removed from the fields. There's a new concrete floor perfect for dancing, dimmable cafe lights, fans, and two glass garage doors. On the outside, each side of the barn has a covered porch to relax and enjoy the view. The barn is the perfect spot for a wedding reception or a cocktail hour after a lakeside ceremony.
The House
We envision families spending a long wedding weekend in the house prepping before, plus relaxing after the wedding. This spacious retreat will be home base for all your weekend activities. Our Story
We never thought we'd be venue owners/operators but couldn't be more excited for this next chapter in our lives (Don't worry, Andrew is not going to quit his day job doing the weather on 12 On Your Side in Richmond). And Jaime will still be working a few days a week as a Dental Hygienist.
We got married under a tree in Jaime's family backyard and now we'd love to welcome you to ours. When we bought this property it was gorgeous and that was before it was a lake front retreat. When Cobbs Creek Reservoir filled with water by late-winter 2025, everyone who visited said, "You MUST have weddings here!"
After lots of help from family and friends, the property is now ready to help you build your new family!
Options
We can accommodate weddings and gatherings from as small as a friend's weekend to as big as a large tent wedding. We have recommended vendors we can put you in touch with but you can bring anyone you want.

A Relaxing Weekend
There are lots of nearby short-term rentals and we are just 35 minutes from hotels in Zion crossroads and 45 minutes to Short Pump hotels.
